Emergency 911 phone service has been restored in some of the areas hit by outages earlier tonight.
Authorities stated that at least six cities in four states had 911 call outages this evening.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced that service was restored to the city soon before 9:15 p.m. PT.
“9-1-1 phone service has been restored,” the LVMPD said on X. “Everyone who contacted during the outage has been called back and assisted. Non-emergency calls are also working. As usual, please do not dial 9-1-1 unless you have an emergency.”
Nevada State Police also verified via X that service had been restored in Southern Nevada’s Clark County, including Las Vegas and Henderson, which had experienced disruptions earlier.
South Dakota’s whole statewide emergency calling system went down Wednesday night, Pierre police confirmed. However, early Thursday morning local time, the Highway Patrol stated that it had been restored.
“Service has been restored on the South Dakota 911 system,” SDHP said on X. “Our emergency system is fully operational and ready to respond quickly to any situation.” Your safety is our main priority, and we are here to make sure that aid is always available when you need it. Do not dial 911 as a test.
The sheriff’s office reported outages throughout Dundy County, Nebraska, and the neighboring areas on Facebook. According to cops, both the non-emergency line and 911 texting were functional.
A number of Texas localities, including Del Rio and Kilgore, had power disruptions.
The Kilgore Police Department claimed on Facebook that it was experiencing periodic outages and asked residents to call 903-983-1559 ext. 1 to report any emergency.
